Information to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)

Transportation Security Clearance

In order to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC), you must first obtain Transport Security Clearance (TSC) by completing the Transportation Security Clearance Application.

The TSC Application is the online application that an applicant who is seeking employment at a secured air or marine port completes, in order to submit their information to Transport Canada for verification.

Prior to attending your appointment, please ensure that you have the documents listed below. Your appointment that will take approximately 1 hour.

  1. Your birth certificate (original version only)

  2. Your passport (if you have a valid version)

  3. Passport Size photos (taken within 30 days) please bring two pictures.Also note that you will not get your passport photos back even if you cancel the application process.

  4. Immigration CIC card (if applicable)

  5. A printed copy of the certificate of completion for the Canadian Transportation Agency’s (CTA) Disability Training Course. The CTA requires every employee who is working in or near the airport terminal, to complete the Disability Training Course and complete the quiz to obtain their certification.

Once you are ready, there is a link to the quiz just above the video clips. Once you have obtained a passing mark of 85%, please print out your certificate and bring to your appointment with the Pass Office.

Note: Applicants who have been outside of Canada and the U.S. in the last five (5) years are required to provide additional supporting out of country (OOC) documentation, for their time outside of Canada and the U.S., when applying for a Transportation Security Clearance (TSC). Once you have started your TSC Application and you have the necessary documents, schedule an appointment with the Greater Sudbury Airport’s Pass Office.

Please note when scheduling an appointment with the Pass Office, your company will be notified and charged with a missed appointment fee for any appointment you miss.
