The second season of the Legends Cricket League is all about the four-delivery feature. The tournament, which is only for retired cricketers, will have 16 matches across six countries. The opening match of the T20 tournament is scheduled to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. After that the campaign will start in Lucknow, New Delhi, Cuttack and Jodhpur.

Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens will host the first match of the second edition of Legends League Cricket (LLC) on September 15, officials said on Friday.
The match between India’s maharajas and world giants will be commemorated on the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.

“This is a matter of pride for us, as we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of independence. As a proud Indian, it gives me immense pleasure to say that this year we have decided to dedicate the league to celebrate the 75th anniversary of independence,” said Ravi Shastri, LLC Commissioner, in a release.
Indian Maharajas will be led by former Indian captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, while World Giants will be led by England’s 2019 World Cup captain Eoin Morgan.
Second edition LLC, from the date of the special match viz. will start from September 16, which will have four parts according to the franchise format. A total of 15 matches will be played this season in 22 days.

Legends League Cricket 2022, Curtain Raiser: India Maharajas Beat World Giants By Six Wicket
Founded by Raman Raheja and Vivek Khushalani, the league is the brainchild of Absolute Sports Pvt Ltd. Former cricketer and Indian men’s cricket coach Ravi Shastri is also involved in the whole project as he is the commissioner of the league. .
The first edition was held in Oman where three teams were named Indian Maharajas, Asian Lions and World Giants. Mohammad Kaif, Misbah-ul-Haq and Darren Sammy captained the teams.
All sides played each other twice in the round-robin, with the top two qualifying for the final. The world giants and Asian lions met in the final to tie the inaugural trophy.
After the success of the first edition, the return of the second league in a new form was announced. The four teams will be owned by a private company based on a franchise road league.
