Ipl Qualifier Team 2023 – The ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has now reached its business conclusion and the competition to secure a place in the playoffs is increasing every day. So far, none of the ten teams have secured a place in the play-offs, and all are still fighting for the coveted places.
Currently, the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) are at the top of the points table with 12 points from nine games and they have a strong chance of getting a place in the top four. However, Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) – currently at the bottom of the league table – are also out of the tournament.

With the competition for the playoffs increasing with every match, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh – who played for teams like Mumbai Indians (MI), Chennai Super Kings (XC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) – has picked four teams that he believes has the best chance of making it to the next stage.

“I did, I should do. This is the team that was for Chennai Super Kings. Teesri Team Mumbai Indians. Abi wu bahut peeche hai par meri apni soch hai ki wo wha par rahegi. (That’s why I think one becomes GT. Second will definitely be Chennai Super Kings. Third team will be MI. You can say they are so low now but they will now)”
“Aur RCB is just majhe added to have 4 min dikhgei. RR Muje put hai waha rahegi par at the end koi na koi aage nickel jiyega. Mumbai Indians have a great place. (And the fourth will be RCB. I think RR will be on edge but eventually someone will jump on them. Mumbai Indians can overtake them)”

Gujarat Titans are currently leading the points table with 16 points to their name. They are followed by CSK with 15 points and LSG with 11 points. Although Delhi Capitals are in tenth position with 8 points from 11 matches. While GT look almost qualified, needing just one win to have a Q to their name, Delhi Capitals are now out due to their loss against CSK.
So, with 15 group stage matches left, how about analyzing all the pending matches and looking at the playoff qualification scenario for all 10 teams for IPL 2023? To simplify the analysis, we will look at the current situation in terms of points earned, and then analyze the pending matches to reach the qualification scenario.
Chennai Super Kings are well placed in second place with 15 points from 11 matches. They now have a home game against KKR and an away game against DC. DC and KKR are currently strangled in the bottom half of the points table. With one home game to go, expect CSK to sail through with at least one win from the remaining two matches.
A loss against Chennai Super Kings means Delhi Capitals are now out of IPL 2023. They can reach a maximum of 14 points and given the competitive nature of this year’s tournament, it looks impossible for them to qualify.
Ipl 2023 Playoff Qualification Scenarios Explained: Rr Stir Things Up As Pressure Mounts On Mi, Rcb
Gujarat Titans have repeated last year’s performance with an amazing 16 points in 11 matches. GT has yet to qualify, but as history has seen, no team has ever failed to qualify with 16 points. Mathematically, they still cannot qualify, as six or more teams can finish with 16 or more points. But if they win even one more game, GT would qualify with no scenario in the picture.
A win against Punjab Kings in the last match kept play-off hopes alive for KKR in IPL 2023. They are now riding high with three wins in their last five matches. With 10 points from 11 matches, KKR need to win all their remaining three matches to qualify for the playoffs. However, the way forward is not easy with three tough matches in the form of RR, CSK and LSG. It would be interesting if KKR reach the top 4, but it looks unlikely for now.
Lucknow Super Giants are currently placed third with 11 points from 11 matches. However, their qualification scenario looks tentative. They would definitely have to win all three games to have a confirmed shot at the playoffs. But in case they lose one, it shouldn’t be against MI and they also have to hope that two of RR, PBX and RCB don’t complete 16 points.
A decisive win over RCB put Mumbai Indians in third place with 12 points from 11 matches. They are now better off than most of the bottom ranked teams. Everyone
