The Indian Premier League regular season ended in early November, and after 56 cricket matches across three venues played in just over six weeks in the UAE, here’s our look at what we’ve seen of the cricket tournament so far.
Ipl 2020 Cricket
The very attractive thing about the first phase of the Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 2020) was the great cricket matches we were treated to. Four matches were played in the Super Over, including the titanic clash between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians that claimed the second draw, and 11 other cricket matches were decided in the final round of play. The eight IPL cricket teams were tight at times and this was reflected as all the cricket teams won at least six matches for the first time in the IPL.
Ipl Schedule 2020: Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings To Kick Off Ipl 2020
During the IPL season, both sides were surprise packages for the right reason. Delhi Capitals have shown improvement in recent IPL campaigns and continued to occupy the second spot in the Indian Premier League table and at one point looked good to finish at the top of the pile. Despite losing their last four cricket matches, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a much better IPL season, reaching the post-season for the first time since 2016, and will have something to build on when they return to India.
From a cricketer’s point of view, Chris Gayle was perhaps the biggest surprise package of IPL 2020. He is clearly in the twilight of his cricketing career, but he showed that he is not done yet by almost single-handedly transforming the form of Punjab Kings XI. cricket players. He scored 288 runs in seven innings with three scores of 50 at an average of 41, which is an incredible performance compared to other young cricketers in Indian Premier League 2020.
There is no doubt that last season’s finalists Chennai Super Kings were the big disappointments of IPL 2020. They finished their Indian Premier League campaign by winning their last three cricket matches when they were eliminated to add to it, but they were very poor before that, which was very surprising considering they have a different one in every season of the IPL. they have qualified for the Indian Premier League 2020 playoffs.
When it comes to cricketers, considering the price that Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab paid for Pat Cummins and Glenn Maxwell respectively, you have to say that none of them got their money’s worth. Cummins cost the Knight Riders 15.5 crores but could only return 12 goals from 14 matches, half of which came in the last two matches. It cost Kings XI Rs 10.75 crore for Maxwell’s services but he scored 108 runs at 15.42 per innings in 13 matches and was dropped in the final cricket match of the IPL campaign.

Every IPL cricket season brings out several exciting and talented young Indian cricketers and this one was no different. The one who really caught the eye was Royal Challengers Bangalore opener Devdutt Padikal, who ended the IPL regular season fourth with 472 runs in what was an excellent debut season for the 20-year-old.
Another surprise of IPL 2020 was cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad of Chennai Super Kings. The 23-year-old cricketer featured in the last six matches of the Indian Premier League season, scoring 50s in half of his innings, and looks a real prospect. He was the only bright spot for the former IPL champions.
With the ball, Ravi Bishnoi entered the Indian Premier League 2020 with a reputation and with 12 wickets in one of the Kings XI Punjab cricketers who fought for such a big part of the competition from a bowling perspective, he certainly showed that he is one of the new stars of the IPL. . He could be the bowler to watch next season.
