Cricket Icc T20 – Hosts Australia will face New Zealand in the ICC Men’s World Cup Super 12, a repeat of the 2021 final in the Antipodes.
The squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia has been released and the draw for the First Round and Super 12 groups has been confirmed.

The tournament will run from Sunday, October 18 to November 13, with 16 teams competing and seven cities across Australia hosting matches. Of these 16 places, 12 have already been confirmed, and the final four will be determined by the Global Qualifier.

England, New Zealand, Australia and Afghanistan are grouped in Group 1, while India, Pakistan, South Africa and Bangladesh are in Group 2.
The Super 12 will get off to a dramatic start with a meeting between the two 2021 World Cup finalists in Sydney, with New Zealand taking on defending champions Australia on Saturday 22 October.
And the opening weekend doesn’t stop there, as India and Pakistan meet on Sunday, October 23, in one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament, on the second day of the Super 12 round.
The Super 12 will be played over two days, with the two groups being played on the weekend of November 5 and 6.

Apart from the Australia vs New Zealand and Pakistan vs India matches over the weekend, the spread of other countries as key matches in the Super 12 stage is different.
There will be a repeat of the 2021 semi-final between England and New Zealand when the two nations meet in an evening match at the Gabba on Tuesday 1 November, with both teams in their final group game.
Pakistan will face Bangladesh in Adelaide in the final match of the Super 12 stage.
The tournament will begin with a six-day group stage, with the bottom four teams qualifying for the Super 12.

Sri Lanka and Namibia will join the other two qualifiers in Group A, while the West Indies and Scotland will be drawn alongside two additional teams from the Global Qualifiers in Group B.
The first round will be a double-header each day, played on alternate days at Hobart’s Bellerive Oval and Gelding’s Cardinia Park, with Group A matches and Group T matches at the latter venue in the Tasmanian city.
The winner of Group A and the winner of Group B will join Group 1 at the Super 12 stage, while the winners of Group B and the runners-up of Group A will advance to Group 2.
The Sydney Cricket Ground will host the first semi-final on November 9, while the second semi-final will be played the following day at the Adelaide Oval.

The 2022 ICC Men’s World Cup Final is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM local time at the 100,024 capacity Melbourne Cricket Ground.
There will be a total of seven places in the tournament. Kardinia Park in Gillingham will host six matches in the first round of week one, Bellerive Oval in Hobart will host a total of nine matches, six in the first round and three more matches over the three days of the Super 12 stage.
